Heavy snow across portions of Central Alabama is making for a travel nightmare across portions of the state. Some portions of Shelby County are officially reporting over 5 inches of snow as of 11AM Central time with heavy snow continuing. This is the largest snowfall in many years in this portion of the state. Power outages have also taken place across the Pelham area where thousands are without power. State wide over 30 thousand residents are without power.
