Wichita, Kansas has an interesting wild west history as a rowdy cowtown, but after its days of cowboys and gunfights, Wichita became one of the largest cities in Kansas. In the 1890s Wichita was growing as a center of agriculture, but something odd happened in the years of 1893 and 1894, people in Wichita began experiencing hauntings, and ghost stories became the talk of the town. These ghost stories would be talked about, people in Wichita became ghost hunters trying to figure out if it was true. Spiritualists in Wichita were convinced that the spirits of the dead wished to communicate with the living. Some of these ghost stories were debunked, others remained a mystery.
