Angolan Python in the Wild ft. Marsh Terrapin, Tailless Whip Scorpion

The Angolan Dwarf Python or the Anchiete's Python is the smallest python species in Southern Africa. It is the rarest of the pythons in the region and inhabits rocky outcrops & gorges, spending time during the day deep in the cracks & crevices but emerge at night to find an ambushing position for its prey. It is similarly related to the ball python, and as such has a defensive posture where it curls into a ball. Because of the Angolan civil war this species has been rarely encountered in the past by herpers and therefore little is known about their behaviour in the wild.

Collating all the data we are gathering will help build a picture of which habitats are key to sustaining the largest diversity of life on planet earth.
