This iconic pop-hit and one of the defining songs of the 80’s ‘ Self Control’ was covered and made famous by an American singer and a multi-platinum artist ‘ Laura Branigan’ in 1984.
Released in 1984 , it was originally by an Italian singer ‘Raf’. It was written and produced by Giancarlo Bigazzi along with Steve piccolo and Raf ; arranged by Celso Valli under the label ‘Carrere.’
Branigan’s version was produced by Jack White and Robbie Buchanan under the label ‘Atlantic Records.’ Her version reached no.1 in many countries – Austria , Denmark , Sweden , Finland , South Africa , Portugal etc. It was a commercial hit across Europe specially Germany and Switzerland. It charted at no.4 on US Billboard Hot 100 and among Top-10 on UK Singles Chart.
