青年日本の歌 / Shōwaishin no uta / Ode of Shōwa Restoration - With Lyrics

"青年日本の歌" or "Seinen Nihon Nouta" (The Song of Young Japan) / 昭和維新の歌" or "Shōwaishin no uta" (Shōwa Restoration Song) or (Ode of Shōwa Restoration) is a 1930 song by Japanese Naval Officer Mikami Taku. It was composed as an anthem for the Young Officers Movement.

The Shōwa Restoration was a movement promoted by Japanese author Kita Ikki, with the goal of restoring power to the newly enthroned Japanese Emperor Hirohito and abolishing the liberal Taishō democracy.

The content of the lyrics insists on "national remodeling" and the exclusion of seniors, priests and chaebols in the political world, and although it has a strong militaristic color, the economic and wealth gaps of Japanese society at that time To some extent. Since its announcement, it has become popular throughout Japan, but was banned in 1936. The cause is said to be that the lyrics fueled violence and caused dissatisfaction with Emperor Shōwa. Many of the poems in the lyrics are quoted from the works of Bansui Doi and Shumei Okawa.
