You'll learn how to create dimension in the room with a color gradient affect on the wall and floor and in the paint with properly placed highlights and shadows. This confident canine is ready to start pleading his case to the his human as his fate is being decided! You'll learn to paint realistic fur, perfectly proportioned body and a face that is ready to start barking, or begging for a safe way out of this predicament. MATERIALS:
Canvas: 16x20 stretched primed canvas
Brushes: 1/2 flat bristle (large), #1 round (small)
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, mars black, burnt umber (brown), deep yellow, cobalt blue, fluorescent purple, fluorescent orange
Other: chalk, palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint wall with black, blue and white
2. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint floor with dark blue (made in step 1), black, brown and white
3. chalk - Draw outline of dog
4. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint basecoat of dog with black, brown and white
5. #1 round brush - Paint 1st layer of facial features with black
6. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint shadow on floor with black and brown
7. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint shadow on dog with black. brown and dark gray (made in step 4)
8. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint final layer of fur with dark gray, light gray and white
9. #1 round brush - Finish the face with yellow, orange, white, black and brown
10. #1 round brush - Paint 1st layer of paint brush with black
11. #1 round brush - Paint 1st layer of paint splatters with white
12. #1 round brush - Finish paint brush with yellow, orange and white
13. #1 round brush - Paint shadows under paint with black and brown
14. #1 round brush - Paint the color on the paint areas with yellow, orange, purple, blue, white and gray
15. #1 round brush - Sign with black
