FAA bans helicopters near Reagan Airport after deadly midair crash

Nearly one year after the deadly midair crash over the Potomac that killed 67 people, the FAA has enacted sweeping changes. Starting today, helicopters are officially banned from flying near Reagan National Airport, except for emergencies like national security or medical transport.
