Synopsis
Political Blind Date is a Canadian documentary series that pairs politicians from different parties, backgrounds, or ideological perspectives and sends them on a “blind date” to explore the country’s most pressing issues. Each episode features two politicians who may strongly disagree on topics such as climate change, housing, health care, pipelines, urban–rural divides, or immigration.
Instead of debating in a studio, the politicians take each other into their own worlds: one date is planned by the first politician, showing their perspective and experiences, and the second date is arranged by the other. Along the way, viewers see the human side of politics as the participants share personal stories, visit affected communities, and discover where their values clash—or sometimes overlap.
The goal is not to force agreement but to encourage understanding, foster dialogue, and show Canadians that civil conversation is still possible across partisan lines.
