8 Food Ingredients That Can Cause Inflammation - Avoid These If You Have Arthritis

Food Ingredients That Can Cause Inflammation:

Arthritis is a painful inflammation of the joints. This term includes several pathologies, acute or chronic, the causes of which are different, but which mainly concern the hands and feet. Diet is a major contributor to inflammation. To try to relieve pain, it is therefore recommended to limit a certain number of foods as much as possible.

Alcohol and sodas
Try to decrease the amount of alcohol you consume, as it can worsen the inflammation that occurs in the body. The effects can be felt from the first or second drink of the evening. The same goes for lessodas, which contain ingredients that can exacerbate arthritis pain by worsening inflammation.

White bread
Refined carbohydrates, like white bread, not only provide your body with minimal nutrition, but can also fuel the production of compounds known to promote inflammation. Replace white bread with wholemeal bread, which will also provide you with fiber, vitamins and minerals.

French fries and crisps
French fries are (unfortunately) a food to avoid for people with arthritis, as well as potato chips. Like refined carbohydrates, these foods increase inflammatory compounds in the body, and are often cooked in oils composed of pro-inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids. Third problem: lesel. These three factors make French fries and potato chips a very poor food choice for arthritis.

Sweets
Sugar is a major inflammatory agent in our diet, as is saturated fat. However, many sweets such as ice cream and cakes contain high levels of sugar and saturated fat. Fortunately, there are solutions: replace butter and cream with low-fat yogurt, and reduce the amount of sugar. Avoid turning to margarine, which contains too many trans fatty acids.

Certain oils
Safflower, sunflower, soybean and corn oils contain more omega-6 fatty acids than omega-3 fatty acids. Since omega-6s are pro-inflammatory fatty acids, as opposed to anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids, these oils can make arthritis symptoms worse. You can easily replace them with avocado, walnut, flax or cod liver oils.

Red meat and cold cuts
Meats, especially red meats, promote inflammation in the body in a number of ways. Processed foods, like cold meats, often contain saturated fat and a lot of sodium. Try to limit your consumption as much as possible and choose quality products.
