Opening Scene

In the trailer we can see that Godzilla has gone rogue and people are expecting Kong to stop him. In the opening scene we see Godzilla has attacked the city and the military forces are trying to defend it. The question arises, is it really Godzilla attacking the city, or is it actually Mechagodzilla's attack who has disguised himself as Godzilla? This attack could also have been orchestrated by an evil human force.

Monarch Wants to Bring in Kong

Monarch's only strategy to stop Godzilla is to bring out Kong, who has been kept chained for a long time. They believe that only a Titan can stop another titan. This brings Godzilla and Kong into a fight. Previously, Monarch had trusted Godzilla as humanity's protector but the tables have turned!

Kong is Ready to Help

The Monarch chained up Kong and now that they need him, why would Kong help them? After all, he has been captured and held captive for years. However, it appears in the trailer that Kong is acting out of compassion as he has a deep connection with the little girl. The trailer does not explain how Kong has developed this connection with the girl or who the girl actually is. We do have a theory here though. The girl could be a friend of Kong from when he lived in the jungle. The girl might have lived and been raised in the forest with Kong and that's how they share this bond and affection.

Challenge By Kong

Kong challenges Godzilla and Godzilla responds by almost toppling an aircraft carrier causing Kong to step back in shock. This challenge by Kong reflects how Kong is ready to fight Godzilla who has become trouble recently.

Who Could Win the Fight?

As of now, it is unclear who can win this fight between Godzilla and Kong. Godzilla has the power to sense other Titans and he has great strength and power as well. On the other hand, Kong is only depending upon his power and strength and has no advantage from the environment. This gives Godzilla a better chance to win this fight because he could use his ability to sense the Titan and dodge any hidden or disguised attacks from Kong.
On the other hand, if Godzilla wins this fight, the world will be doomed. Another theory I have is that no one will win the fight. The two titans will face off against each other and tire themselves out but they won't be able to defeat the other. In the end, Godzilla will be calmed down, he will back off and become the savior of humanity once again.

A Human Conspiracy

The fight between the two titans could be a human conspiracy to finish them. Neither Kong nor Godzilla is the villain; instead, humans are the real villains. Apparently, "a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever." Let's go back to a scene in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. If you watch the credits, you might have seen Monarch was building a mechanized giant on Skull Island. This giant could be Mechagodzilla. Once the real Godzilla senses this, he will rise and fight along with Kong to finish off Mechagodzilla. In the end, Monarch will be destroyed and its conspiracies will be put to rest, at least for some time.

Godzilla Acting as a Lizard

Another clue that points towards the theory that Godzilla is actually Mechagodzilla in disguise is that it is acting like a lizard. This is against his current depiction by the MonsterVerse. Godzilla has his own moves and he never has to act like a lizard to fight the presumed enemy. In the trailer, we also see Godzilla climbing on top of the naval vessel like a lizard. Again, this is atypical of Godzilla as Godzilla has been known as a dinosaur who survived the extinction.
