The Beginning of the End

Let’s start with when and why Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart broke up in the first place?

On August 19th, 2020, Cole opened up about his breakup with Lili in an Instagram post. He shared a picture of Lili along with a heartfelt caption revealing the end of their relationship.
Cole wrote, “Lili and I initially separated in January of this year, deciding to more permanently split in March. What an incredible experience I had, I’ll always feel lucky and cherish that I had the chance to fall in love. I wish her nothing but the utmost love and happiness moving forward. All I’ll say about it, anything else you hear doesn’t matter.”
Being a great ex-boyfriend, he also promoted her upcoming movie “Chemical Hearts” as he added, “Also her movie comes out soon! I’m sure she’s just as incredible in it as everything else she does.”
This message from Cole was genuinely a great explanation for all the fans that were questioning why they haven’t seen the couple together during the lockdown and why they are quarantining separately.

While Cole spoke up about the breakup, Lili Reinhart is more of a woman who keeps her stuff private. In an interview Lili talked about dealing with depression and grief, she said, “I couldn't see the light. I was like, I feel like I'm dying. It was f**king rough, and there's no other way through it than just through it."
Many people concluded that she was in fact talking about her breakup with Cole.
However, Lili soon clarified by tweeting, “Quotes taken from my most recent interview are not about a “breakup.” They are about the depression I’ve felt over these last few months. Tired of people taking my words out of context and piecing together their own story for clickbait.”
She further made herself clear that she would not speak so candidly about something that is as personal as a breakup, which is something very private.
Lili also defended Cole when cheating allegations were thrown at him. She slammed at the haters in a series of tweets.
She wrote, “Twitter is such a vile place. It’s so easy to say s**t behind your f**king phone, isn’t it? This is why people choose to keep their relationships private… this is why people don’t have social media… because of this bullying.”
She also defended Cole when people started to contribute to the trend # ColeSprouseIsOverParty when she tweeted,
“I don’t tolerate any of that s**t. Bully me? Sure fine. But attacking someone for literally no reason, just for the sake of a f**king twitter trend? Please… reassess yourself and your ego before you send another tweet into the abyss.”
Fast Forward to Lili’s birthday... she received a bouquet of flowers and the sender’s name was hidden. It is being speculated that the flowers were from Cole as he used to bring flowers to her and this might be the same old gesture from him. She had also invited Cole to her birthday party, which consisted of only 6 people. Despite their breakup, they have been on good terms.

Back On Set For Season 5

When Season 5 began filming, many fans speculated that the two were back together. Their scenes consisted of showing affection and love and that might have sparked the romance. In one of the pictures, Lili was also seen wearing Cole’s jacket, which is a gesture that couples do in relationships. They also left a party together early and at the same time. Cole’s brother Dylan had started liking Lili’s pictures. It seems like he knows something more!
