They Laughed At The "Bazooka" Until It Penetrated 4 Inches Of Armor #ww2history #history #ww2 #facts

At first, many soldiers laughed at it.
A long metal tube with a rocket inside didn’t look like a serious weapon. During #WW2, some even compared it to a toy.
They called it the Bazooka.
But the joke ended quickly.
The Bazooka was one of the first portable rocket launchers used in #WorldWar2, designed to give infantry a chance against heavily armored tanks. Instead of relying on massive anti-tank guns, a single soldier could now carry the power to destroy armor on his shoulder.
Its shaped-charge warhead could penetrate up to 4 inches of steel armor — enough to threaten many tanks of the time.
Suddenly, infantry units had a weapon that could stop advancing armor without waiting for artillery or air support.
Lightweight. Portable. Devastating.
Sometimes the weapons that look the simplest…
turn out to be the most dangerous.
