Royal College of Art: URI GELLER OPENS THE 2015 20|21 INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR

URI GELLER after telling surprisingly of his own forays into the world of Art once again proves himself the consummate showman. Having taken a spoon from the RCA student canteen, and with minimal and characteristic interaction, he coaxes the handle to break off and fall to the floor of the galleries of the Royal College of Art.

The occasion was the official and celebrity opening at mid-day of the annual 20|21 International Art Fair when Art Dealers show the skilled and seductive works of artists, painters and sculptors they are proud to have on their books, and display. Most pieces are portable and many priced under £1,000.

The numbers 20|21 refer to the two centuries, the 20th and the 21st, those in which their clients are or have been living. So, not the place then to come for Renaissance triptychs!

HUE SAYS, "Every single artwork holds something exquisite. The emphasis is on craftsmanship and finesse. The spectrum ranges from the accomplished to the stunning."

The 20|21 International Art Fair is a must-see on the London cultural calendar. Maybe! But how Does URI {oo-ree} do it? "Eh... I think His consciousness is ET," says Hue with a straight face. But Russian agent Julian (that is, an agent for a Russian artist being shown) he with his scientific background says the spoons are made of the easily-melting metal Gallium. It's sleight-of-hand. Trouble is, though, the spoon here is part of the distinctive cutlery used in the RCA's student and staff restaurants.

No dispute though that the Fair serves up a veritable feast for all lovers of Art, with something (as they say) to suit everyone's taste.
