Mucking out the cow shed (Spring) - Part 2

We have started using a small trailer to fill with feed for the ewes in the sheep shed. I filled that up first thing and fed all the indoor ewes. I then went and fed the ewes on the hills. I then got the Manitou and Crossfire to put fresh straw down in the sheep shed.

Today was my day to do the eggs so I ran all the belts and packed 12,000 eggs into the trays and stacked them onto the pallets.

Back to the mucking out. We cleared the front of the shed and the main areas to reduce the amount of muck. We used the Manitou and bucket for most of it but the corners and areas we couldn’t get to with the Manitou were done with a fork.

I found the calves helping themselves to a bag of barley so chased them back to where they should be.

We finished off by putting down some fresh straw.
