3 Jake E. Lee Licks From 1989
Here's the next episode of Three-For-All with 3 Jake E. Lee Licks From 1989. As I mentioned in the video, I've had a TON of requests to feature more of Jake E. Lee's music and ideas. I did put together a Three-For-All lesson and Chordplay episode surrounding Jake a few years ago, but since that time I've had plenty of requests for more music from this legendary master of hard rock guitar - so here we go!
The ideas in this lesson came from two sources, which were both bootlegs featuring Jake's classic group Badlands in 1989. This live footage captures Jake at his fiery best and catches him strutting his stuff on stage with his signature aggressive melodic approach and dizzy-fingered ideas.
The licks shared in this lesson include a melodic phrase featuring plenty of pinch harmonic squeals, an aggressive extended-range string bending idea that brings Albert King and Jimmy Page to mind, an interesting bluesy string skipping phrase, a rapid-fire pentatonic "speed lick," and more!
If you've been waiting for a new installment of Jake's six-string prowess and musical mastery to be featured in another lesson on this channel - this is what you've been patiently waiting and asking for!
