Weekend Declutter: Isolation Edition
Hola, y'all! Hope you're fairing well holed up at home.
Like many or perhaps most of you, I've been working from home for the last now... 10 weeks. Wow, that's hard to wrap my brain around. Anyway, in this time I've noticed a lot of possessions around my home that we're no longer using and that I can let go of. As I mention at the end of the video, I think clutter feels magnified right now because of the amount of time that we're spending around it, so if you too are spending more time at home, this may be the perfect time to declutter.
In this video, I take you around my home from my bedroom, bathroom, laundry closet, guest room/office, and kitchen to declutter some of the items that are no longer adding value, and I discuss some of the ways that I plan to get rid of these items or at least get them out of sight until I can responsibly pass them along. My practice of minimalism feels a bit out of balance right now as we're stocked up with many more things than we usually keep in our home, so this quick declutter helped me to feel better about some other areas of my home where I currently have less control. It's definitely something that requires maintenance and continual evaluation.
Other videos mentioned:
The one where I talk about how I responsibly dispose/pass on items (it's about clothing, but you can apply the same principles to just about anything) - https://youtu.be/kVVqCAZ3ABU
