A special court in Pakistan convicted former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife of corruption on January 31, 2024, handing him his harshest sentence yet of 14 years. That came just a day after another court convicted Khan of revealing official secrets, handing down a 10-year prison sentence. The decision, which came ahead of February’s national elections, was called a “sham” by Kahn’s Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI).
