Green Energy: Powering Our Business in Line With Our Values
As part of its commitment to conserving and protecting the outdoor recreation spaces we love, REI uses a four-pronged strategy to reduce the impact of energy use on the environment.
This includes reducing consumption through green building and operations, generating our own solar power, offsetting our use of non-renewables with Renewable Energy Certificates, and partnering with utilities to grow green power capacity in the places we operate. In 2014, our efforts earned us a Green Power Leader award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
