National Parks Centennial: Celebrating 100 Years of The National Park Service

REI started in the national parks seventy-six years ago when our founders banded together to obtain the specialty ice axes they needed to climb Mount Rainier.

Today, that partnership continues as REI joins with the National Park Service to celebrate its 100-year anniversary, with the goal of making it easier for all Americans to enjoy and deeply explore their nearest national parks. The centennial’s Find Your Park campaign will make it easy for all Americans to find and explore their national parks, and REI will make the most of our partnership as Official Outdoor Retailer to give people get the gear and guidance they need to explore the outdoors.
