Catch the grand commissioning of the High Horse Power (HHP) WDP4D Dual Cab EMD 40387 named as PRATAP allocated to Bangalore's Krishnarajapuram (KJM) Diesel Loco Shed, South Western Railways (SWR). KJM supplies Locomotives for Trains originating from Bangalore , Mysore and Hubli of SWR Zone

Time for some Celebration at Bangalore's Krishnarajapuram (KJM) Diesel Locomotive Shed as they commission the special Locomotive in a typical Indian Tradition.

Diesel Locomotive Works ( DLW ) Varanasi manufactures these HHP EMD's in India for the Indian Railways in collaboration with EMD and GM (General motors). Siemens too are part of this group providing a large component of the electronics on board this loco.

DLW has so far manufactured 2000 such Locomotives which comprises of WDP-4, WDP-4B,WDP-4D ,WDG-4,WDG-4D & WDG5. PRATAP is the 2000th HHP Locomotive manufactured by DLW.
