Final Stage of Electrification | MYSORE - BANGALORE Trains | Indian Railways

Enjoy watching a variety Diesel Locomotives (ALCO and EMD) hauled Trains on the scenic Mysore - Bangalore line which is currently undergoing Electrification. The last and final stretch of Yeliyur - Byadarahalli (8 KM) is the last remaining stretch to be conquered by Electric poles and over head wires on the 138 KM Mysore - Bangalore Stretch. This section is a difficult terrain to electrify due to rock cuttings , sharp turns through a narrow passage delayed the electrification on this patch. You can notice some poles erected on this stretch.

This video is specially for all the die hard Diesel lovers out here and this was captured right in time before the Electric Poles and Catenary could get erected and ruin this scenic stretch of land. Almost 95% of the section is electrified and Electric locomotive testing has been completed between Bangalore to Yeliyur. A lot of trains on this stretch will loose its Diesel power once the complete section is Electrified.

The line will be completely ready for Electric locomotives by January 2018. The beauty of this line will be a thing of past and can only be cherished through videos.
