Spasticity occurs due to damage to the brain or the spinal cord (upper motor neuron). It causes involuntary muscle contractions due to hyperexcitability of the stretch reflex. You can manage this problem conservatively including stretching, and movement retraining. However, when spasticity is moderate to severe, it may require medical interventions including medication, injections, and/or surgery.

2. Alpha 2 Agonist
3. Anticonvulsants
4. Muscle relaxers

2. Tendon transfer
3. Joint fusions
4. Tendon lengthening
