Travel Vlog #93 | Barcelona, Spain Food Tour

For our last Barcelona travel vlog we're doing a self-made Spanish food tour and recording our first impressions! We looked up what the most traditional and local dishes of the area were, and went from there! (we also ~had~ to include some gelato). This video is a compilation of multiple days, so we were really able to fit in as much as possible.
To start, we headed to the Barceloneta area, where we read we could find the best bombas, since they originated from this area. We had some delicious tapas and sangria here, and stick around until the end of the video to hear the history of La Bomba as a Spanish dish! Another unique-to-the-area dish we tried at our first stop was crema Catalana. This tasted similar to a creme brûlée, and was absolutely delicious.
Our next stop was Mercado de la Boqueria, which is a food and goods market with so many different options! Since we weren't going to be cooking our own food and didn't want to eat anything heavy here, we grabbed some fruit juices that were incredible! Coming from the US, we get used to additives and other things in our drinks, so it's always refreshing to have some fresh squeezed juices. Right outside of the Boqueria was a small shop selling some other tapas, so we got some patata bravas and croquetes. The potatoes were one of my (Ashley) favorite tapas!
Our next featured stop was Can Ramonet back in Barceloneta. We came here for dinner, and wow did we have a dinner! We wanted more bombas (because they're so incredibly delicious). We learned a bit about bomba history and how they originated as well, which made eating them even more interesting! This is also where we tried our first seafood paella. This is a traditional rice and meat dish usually cooked for celebrations or family gatherings. Each serving easily could serve 2-3 people and was so filling!
Our last stop of the video was actually our first stop of our time in Barcelona, so this is where we tried some of the best tapas for the first time! We got 3 different dishes, and they were all incredible.
