Peyto Lake & Bow Summit | Emerald Lake in Yoho

After realizing we had 5 days off work and a cheap flight to Canada was available, we made the easy decision to spend our time off exploring our 23rd country in August, 2019! We landed around 2 pm, drove from Calgary airport to Canmore (where our hostel was) and quickly began exploring. We started by driving up the Icefields Parkway to Peyto Lake. Peyto was extremely beautiful, but extremely crowded, so we continued to climb up to Bow Summit, where we were alone to admire the lake.

The next day, we ventured to Yoho National Park. We started by visiting the Kicking Horse RIver and the Natural Bridge. After, we headed to Emerald Lake, where we hiked around the lake. We ended up coming to a sign that said Yoho Lake was roughly 6 km (4ish miles) away, and thought why not! We're not sure if we read the sign wrong or took a wrong turn, but it took much longer than we thought it would to reach the lake. It was completely worth it though and was a very rewarding hike. That took up the rest of our day in Yoho, so we headed back to Canmore for the night. In the next vlog, we visit the iconic Lake Louise, so be sure to subscribe!
