You don't have to watch this video. There might be a better solution to this problem. While trying to reinstall macOS monterey 12.6.1, an error occurred on the mac mini 2014 intel machine we had.

Your computer started up in Recovery because a failure occurred during installation.
An error occurred migrating user data during an install.
Reinstall macOS to resolve the issue.

NOTE.. the solution proposed by the error message is useless.. because that's what I'm trying to do.

Long story short.... One possible solution.

In recovery, using disk utiility, you can erase the drive first before you choose to reinstall macOS.

NOTE: hopefully you have a time machine backup... otherwise.. you need to somehow backup your stuff if you don't want to lose it (maybe you have it backed up on icloud.
