Learn to Skip Rope in 30 Days | ft. Crossrope | Days 1-10
Learning to skip rope can be a big challenge for beginners, not only in terms of knowing the details of how to jump rope, but also in getting your body to adapt to the demands of this exercise. It takes awhile for the calves and legs to become proficient at constantly taking little mini-jumps. In this video we build up slowly so that you can learn the skills of jumping rope while also allowing your body to adapt to the work.
In this video we start on days 1-10 of a 30 day journey into skipping rope. For a number of days we simply start jumping without even using the rope. We perform 5 skip rope exercises and build up the volume of each exercise. Eventually we start jumping with the rope. By the time you are done with this program you will be fully capable of continuously skipping rope. Here are the 5 exercises below:
1. Basic rhythm aka the boxer's skip
2. Kick outs
3. Switch step
4. Jumping twists
5. Running on the spot.
