Evolution of Intelligence and Psychic Cost.

One of the key findings is the existence of an evolutionary trade-off, suggesting that the development of advanced cognition in humans may be intrinsically linked to an increased vulnerability to mental disorders. The newly altered genes show high expression in brain regions related to language, supporting the idea that these genetic changes have shaped the human brain and its unique cognitive abilities.
