Jaye P Morgan - Not One Goodbye (1955)
Charted at #48 on Billboard Hot 100 in December 1955. A very interesting bit of information about this recording: it was cut at a public recording session in Detroit in front of 8000 teenagers! Can you imagine an audience being quiet enough today to professionally record a song in front of? I'm assuming crowd noise wasn't mixed out because I doubt they would have the technology to do that back then, but someone can let me know if I'm incorrect. Also, I disagree with the Billboard critic in the review below. I think this song fits Jaye like a glove, and the arrangement is reminiscent of her big hit "The Longest Walk".
Original Billboard review: "This smart, swingy Red Evans-Phil Springer tune isn't the thrush's special cup of tea. A fairly labored lilt." Billboard rating: 77 out of 100.
Written by Redd Evans and Phil Springer.
B-side is "My Bewildered Heart".
