Janice Harper - Bon Voyage (1957)

Charted at #46 on Billboard Hot 100 in August 1957. Janice was a beautiful lady with a truely powerful voice, but coming along at the start of rock and roll, she never gained the success she should have. She is one of my favorite singers of the '50's. "Bon Voyage" was her first single release, and her biggest hit. Her other chart entries were "That's Why I Was Born" (#84 in December 1957), "Devotion" (#82 in August 1958) and "Cry Me A River" (#91 in January 1960).

Original Billboard review: "Prep's (the record label) new canary sings in the rich, meaningful style of Vera Lynn on the lyrical ballad, "Bon Voyage." If new trend towards ballads is "for real", gal could step out in pop market."

Written by O. O. Merritt and Vin Roddie.

B-side is "Tell Me That You Love Me Tonight".
