Tesla Terafactory Texas Update #185 in 4K: Updates All Around - 07/20/21 (5:00pm | 87°F)

Hey guys, it’s Randy! Today we had much better weather and I was able to get a good flight in. Unfortunately for yesterday, I made the trip out in the rain but had to give up and head back home after 45 minutes waiting for a break that never came. Today’s footage shows major updates in both the northeast and southwest corners, surface updates along the west side of the factory, and structural steel updates in the gaps! There’s a lot to cover so let’s get to the updates!

Here are today’s key takeaways:
-The GigaPress area shows the installation of all cross beams have been completed and most of the Double Tees have also been installed as only a handful remain until the entire roof is pieced together. We can also see more clearly where the roads in this corner of the factory will go as well. The road extending south from HGR splits to provide paths on each side of the transmission line tower, with one side joining the new road taking shape that runs at an angle to match this corner of the building and the other continuing to run south the entire length of the factory.
-The east-facing side of the BIW building shows that window installation has made major progress and now runs from the upper-level access platform nearest the GigaPress building and currently stops about half the entire length of the BIW building.
-The southwest corner shows a quick look at the progress of the structural steel. Again, it’s not moving quite as fast as the northwest corner did, but it’s still moving along well and hopefully will be done soon. My guess would be right at the end of the month or the first week in August. Let me know yours in the comments below.
-On the west side of the GA building, we see major work has taken place and is still in progress regarding paving and pouring concrete on this side of the factory. We see that huge concrete slabs have been poured for the southernmost loading bays and the asphalt paving that started at the northern edge of the GA building is almost to this newly paved concrete section.
-The northwest corner shows paving actively taking place next to the BCP building and we can see that this extends recent paving that has taken place directly at the base all along this side of the BCP building. We also see a long concrete slab has been poured over the large drainage pipes we saw installed in this area before they are to be covered with asphalt for the road as well. It’s also evident that this area was widened tremendously as we can see how much of the old soil perimeter has been carved out and removed to make room for the roads in this area. Lastly in this area, we can see the installation of the many Evapco Cooling Towers on the 4th floor of the BCP building, which were previously stored at the old building north of the electrical substation.
-The southern gap shows they are making quick work of filling in this section as they have already reached the first firestop in this new area as they head south. As for the northern gap, they have been busy framing in the Retox System with structural steel. I’m curious if this will be a completely walled-off section away from the rest of the space in this northern gap as it’s starting to look like it at this point in time.
