Tesla Terafactory Texas Update #153 in 4K: GigaPress Fine-Tuning - 05/12/21 (4:00pm | 71°F)

Hey guys, it’s Randy! Today’s video shows some really exciting footage all over the site, but the crown jewel is seeing the first GigaPress machine active as the team is most likely fine-tuning it. We don’t see any castings being pulled from it yet, but it’s clear they are doing test runs and updating things to achieve the level of precision and timing needed by each of the robots.

This video consists of the normal flight path around the site and then towards the end, I’ve included an extended bonus clip just showing the crews work on both of the GigaPress machines in the area so be sure to check it out, especially the robots moving simulating removing castings! We’re getting close so hang in there everyone!

Here are today’s key takeaways:
-The second GigaPress machine is still being assembled and #1 in the background is active and being fine-tuned. These stacks of shiny materials on the dark side nearest the paint shop we believe are the aluminum slugs that will be melted down for the castings. I have a feeling they might be able to start casting before the end of the week!
-Across the highway, it looks to be another productive day with the work they are doing on that side as the spreading of materials is almost to the north edge.
-The southwest corner perimeter grade beam has had concrete poured today after receiving rebar yesterday.
-At the pit area we can see metal wall studs being installed on the BIW building side and there is active digging going on within the pit, possibly to place the pieces of the storm detention system.
-The GA section shows more test windows being mounted on the south end. We see wall panel installation still quickly moving along and it looks like the real windows have started arriving on site as we can see 7 racks just northeast of the bus and partially covered with white wrapping. I didn’t notice them while actually flying so I kind of zipped past them but noticed when I got home.
-The far north detention pond is having a liner placed inside and along the sides. The french drain looks completed and is in the process of being covered with sand as well.
-Lastly, we check in on Bobcat Project and see that GeoPier work, clearing, and trying to fill in the one large area of standing water are the main things happening as usual.
