Tesla Terafactory Texas Update #109 in 4K: Back To Work - 02/22/21 (5:15pm | 73°F)

Welcome back everyone, it’s Randy! After some of the craziest weather we’ve ever seen in this area that was accompanied by some of the worst conditions many of us have probably ever had to endure, things are at least back to normal at the site as the ice and snow have melted and crews are back to work! Today’s video shows the progress achieved since my last video which was well over a week ago and we can mainly see great progress in areas where the structures have joined as well as a few other nice updates around the site as well.

Here are today’s key takeaways:
- In the northeast corner, we can see the Tesla logo and paneling in place on the casting machine. Up on the roof, we see that temporary railing has been installed and framing of the sections to pour the thin concrete layer has started.
- Our look at both structures running along the eastern edge of the factory shows that both the north end and south ends are fully connected regarding steel beams and columns. Note that the south end joining the concrete structure has 2 very large vertical openings along this eastern side as well.
- The south end continues to progress nicely and we see that wall panels have started to be installed on the eastern facing side of the concrete structure. More welded wire mesh has been laid in multiple areas on the roof and interestingly enough, there haven’t been any new wall panels to go up on the western side of the structure since sometime around the 8th or 9th of this month.
- Over on the west side, expansion also continues on both the large and smaller structures. They are definitely using the same playbook used on the east side from the looks of it. So we should see the smaller section take shape quickly with the section to the north of it expanding south until the two join, while this smaller section expands to the south.
- In the switchyard area, assembly of electrical substation framing and pieces has started. I found an interesting video showing what some of this could look like. It’s a quick one and worth a look so I’ve linked it in the description below.
