465 | Nairobi Markets and City Day Tour!! (Kenya Travel VLOG)

23 December 2023 - Nairobi

Day 1: We arrive in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya for a quick stopover en route to Tanzania. We have been in transit for nearly 24hrs now since leaving Sydney, after a 9hr flight to Bangkok, then another 9hr flight from there to Kenya.

We had a traditional Kenyan breakfast with Mandazi, samosas and tea in the City Markets, then around artisan Maasai Markets before making our way to the rooftop of KICC for some city views.

We had lunch we had Kenya’s most popular dish, the Nyama Choma, which is Swahili for grilled meat. It was goats meat with Pilau rice and was a super filling and delicious meal!

We arrived back at the airport at 3pm for our 4pm flight, only to realise I left my passport at the ICC! It was every travellers worse nightmare to arrive at the airport without your passport! Lucky our cab driver
drove like grand theft auto and made it to the city and back to the airport in a record 45mins. After a mild anxiety attack luckily we made it onto our flight to Tanzania!

We finally arrive at our destination in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania which is where our next adventure over the next few days will unravel. Stay tuned!
