Rainbow Lattice Wrap Bracelet at The Bead Gallery, Honolulu

This bracelet is a woven-style leather wrap bracelet that we've taught for years! The combination of using a thin nylon cord with leather makes it low-tech and requires no special tools, so it's perfect for the DIY jewelry-making beginner.

The original is possibly our most-watched video over the past decade, so we did it again with 6mm gemstone rainbow beads, and our newest favorite leather that lasts even longer!

2:13 Step 1: Sort beads according to color.
2:44 Step 2: String button and center on leather.
3:20 Step 3: Tie overhand knot.
3:50 Step 4: Use a piece of scrap leather to clip the leather to the Rex Board.

4:22 Step 6: Secure the other end of the leather to the board with a binder clip.

6:42 Step 10: Cross threads in opposite directions through bead and make sure that the threads are strung under the leather and out to opposite sides of the project.

7:52 Step 12: Continue by stringing on two beads each of tiger eye, yellow agate, aventurine, sodalite, lapis, and amethyst. Repeat pattern starting with red jasper.
9:45 Step 13: Continue until the bracelet is long enough to fit around the wrist. Bracelet can be as long as eight inches.
12:11 Step 14: Be sure that the last bead can accommodate three threads, and string threads through the last bead.
13:09 Step 15: Take one end of the thread and string through the last bead.
13:31 Step 16: Pull out all the slack in the threads and make sure one thread is strung under the leather and one thread is strung over the leather.
14:05 Step 17: Tie half a square knot.
14:18 Step 18: Tie a surgeon knot for the second half of the square knot.
14:29 Step 19: Push one of the thread ends between the last two beads in the space between them.
14:44 Step 20: Come up from below the bracelet to one side of the bead.
14:47 Step 21: Tie another series of knots.
15:21 Step 22: Use hypo tube cement to seal the knot. Alternatively, you can burn with a lighter or thread zapper.
16:27 Step 23: Use a cutter to trim away the extra thread. Do not cut the leather.
16:49 Step 24: Take the bracelet off board.
16:56 Step 25: Tie an overhand knot with the leather
17:14 Step 26: Tie another overhand knot a little ways from the first knot, and that will create a loop for the button. Be sure to make the loop big enough for the button to go through.
18:00 Step 27: Trim away excess leather
