Kumar Metal Industries' Solvent Extraction Plant (SEP) - A 3D Walkthrough

This animation video highlights a solvent extraction plant (SEP) with 500 TPD (tonnes per day) capacity by Kumar Metal Industries.

The solvent extraction process begins with spraying hexane onto the moving extractor bed in a counter-current manner to extract maximum oil from the prepared raw material. The Desolventiser Toaster then removes the hexane and minimises urease activity in the de-oiled cake. The consumed hexane is recovered and recirculated back into the plant. The extracted oil is then pumped into storage tanks for further processing. All operations are carried out under vacuum in order to reduce solvent loss. The de-oiled cake is then cooled, sized, and sent for bagging. The entire system can be controlled by a minimum staff and monitored from the control panel or with a PLC system, allowing management to monitor plant performance in real-time.
