Rice bran oil extraction process | From rice bran to solvent extracted oil

Rice bran oil is extracted from the hard outer layer of rice removed during milling. Light in colour with a high smoke point, it is rich in oryzanol, vitamin E, and natural antioxidants — making it a premium choice for cooking, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.

In this video, we present Kumar's rice bran oil extraction process, showing how raw rice bran is prepared and processed to yield solvent extracted oil ready for refining.

The process begins with conditioning, where the bran is stabilised and prepared for further processing. It is then pelletised to improve solvent contact efficiency, followed by cooling to bring the material to optimal extraction temperature. Solvent extraction then draws out the oil, yielding two outputs: solvent extracted oil, which proceeds to the oil refinery, and deoiled cake, which is recovered as a protein-rich ingredient for animal feed.
