Leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan sign agreement on cessation of hostilities in Karabakh - Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a statement was signed between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia, which states an agreement that the warring parties will end all hostilities in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region starting from 00:00 Moscow time (21:00 GMT, November 9), on November 10. He spoke from Novo-Ogaryovo, Moscow region, on Monday.
"The Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia are stopping at their taken positions. A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is being deployed along the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the corridor connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with the Republic of Armenia. Internally displaced people and refugees are returning to the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and nearby areas under the control of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees," stressed the Russian president.
"We presume that the agreements reached will create the necessary conditions for a long-term and full settlement of the crisis around Nagorno-Karabakh on a fair basis and in the interests of the Armenian and Azerbaijani peoples," he concluded.
SOT, Vladimir Putin, President of Russia: "Today on November 9, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Aliyev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Pashinyan and the President of the Russian Federation signed a statement declaring a complete ceasefire and the end to all hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020. The Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia are stopping at their taken positions. A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is being deployed along the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the corridor connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with the Republic of Armenia. Internally displaced people and refugees are returning to the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and nearby areas under the control of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Exchange of prisoners of war and other detainees as well as of bodies is being conducted. All economic and transport links in the region are being unblocked with transport links carried out with the assistance of the border services of Russia. We presume that the agreements reached will create the necessary conditions for a long-term and full settlement of the crisis around Nagorno-Karabakh on a fair basis and in the interests of the Armenian and Azerbaijani peoples."
