DARK SOULS™ III Yellowfinger Heysel vs. Watchdogs of Farron

While playing through the Road of Sacrifices, I usually keep an eye on my homeward bones, since these will be greyed-out prior to an invasion. I take those precious seconds to make sure I'm not around any aggro'd enemies. (more)

In this case, I was getting ready to take on the NPCs guarding the ladder down to Farron Keep when I noticed a pending invasion. As I ran back to the bonfire I noticed I had been invaded by both Yellowfinger Heysel, and a Watchdog of Farron. What happened next was quite difficult to believe. I'm not sure if the invader was trying to do me a solid (unlikely), or was just not familiar with the NPC invasions in the game.
