Automated Accu-Slice System - Improved 2022 Version - part 1

This is the first video in a series of videos on the development of a new version of the Automated Accu-Slice systems. These new versions of the Automated Accu-Slice system will be larger, stronger, more rigid and more versatile to enable the accurate slicing of longer and heavier boards on the band saws. The systems will also be compatible with band saws with a ¾” wide miter bar slots and also the Felder and Hammer line of band saws with metric size miter bars.

This new version of the Automated Accu-Slice system will include a number of design and software changes to improve the performance of the Automated Accu-Slice system to enable the accurate slicing of thin boards utilizing the band saw.

I am actually producing two versions of this automated Accu-Slice System. This first version will be 36” long and this second prototype will be 48” long. This second larger unit is being designed and built for a customer to be interfaced to a Felder model FB 610 band saw. Our standard Accu-Slice system is 26’ long. So this first version is 12” longer than our standard Accu-Slice system and this second unit is 24” longer than our largest Accu-Slice system.

Both systems will use larger and thicker plates. The back plate is 8” wide by 36” long by 3/8” thick. The plates on our standard Accu-Slice systems are constructed from ¼” think aluminum plates. The front plates are 4” wide by 3/8” thick. So these new versions will be significantly larger, thicker and stronger.
