Old Rusty Pirate Knife Restoration

Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. That old rusty pirate knife I was found at junk yard, price was a USD $0,20. The knife caught my attention own shape. It's really looks like a pirate old weapon. First of all I use a rusty remover to remove all rusty from knife. Due to that knife was not hardening I made decision to do it. I use my old homemade furnace and hardening was successful. Next step was grinding. I used so many sandpapers from 40 to 2500 and effort time was 4 hours. Then I used polishing machine to made shinny effect of the knife blade.

For knife guard I used next stuff: brass and little piece of thin leather. I put the leather below of brass. Second part was knife handle. It was not easy due to the tang was very small and I made decision make overhead montage. Also, for good mount was used couple brass rivets. I hope you enjoy this restoration!
