Carlos Alcaraz’s Coaching Staff in Turmoil? Big Change Rumored After New Hire!
Carlos Alcaraz has suggested that his current coaching team may not remain unchanged indefinitely. The world No. 3 has been under the guidance of retired tennis star Juan Carlos Ferrero since his teenage years, maintaining a close-knit support system. However, he recently acknowledged that adjustments could be made in the future. This comes shortly after Alcaraz brought in a new physiotherapist, one of his close friends.Throughout his career, the Spaniard has surrounded himself with a trusted circle of professionals. He has trained with former world No. 1 Ferrero since his junior days and recently made additional changes to his team.During the off-season, the 21-year-old appointed Samuel Lopez as his permanent secondary coach. Lopez had already assisted Alcaraz occasionally when Ferrero was unavailable and is currently accompanying him at the Rotterdam Open.Ahead of the tournament, Alcaraz also added Fran Rubio to his team as a new physiotherapist. Rubio will rotate tournament duties with lead physio Juanjo Moreno. While Rubio is the latest addition to Alcaraz’s all-Spanish coaching setup, the world No. 3 hinted that this could change.Speaking the same language makes communication easier, but honestly, it’s not a crucial factor. So far, my team has been Spanish, but in the future, we’ll see," Alcaraz shared after his win against Andrea Vavassori on Thursday night.
