Microscopic Energy Balance in a Slab (1D Rectangular Heat Conduction)
Dr. Faith Morrison shows how to apply the microscopic energy equation to one-dimensional heat conduction in a slab. The result of the calculation is the temperature and the heat flux as a function of position. The temperature profile is linear; the flux is constant.
