River Mersey Tidal Bore 28th April 2017

Filmed initially from Wigg Island, near the visitor centre. The bore was late arriving, even though the river level was relatively low and there was a westerly breeze. The bore itself was disappointing, but the flood tide was entertaining to watch as it grew in strength. A better show was on offer from Forrest Way Bridge in Warrington.

Expected High Tide at Liverpool (Gladstone Dock): 9.95m @ 13:14

The bore passed Wigg Island Visitor Centre at 11:50 and Forrest Way Bridge at 12:56
