Stanford Cardiothoracic Surgery Celebrates Women in Medicine 2023
Currently, the Stanford Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery leads in women CT surgeons with 12 female faculty, 6 residents, 3 fellows and one clinical instructor, for a combined total of 22 female surgeons – the highest reported percentage nationwide.
September marks the American Medical Association’s Women in Medicine Month—an annual celebration of women physicians, residents, and trainees. Each year we look forward to celebrating all the women in medicine and sharing our appreciation for those who have paved the way for future leaders in cardiothoracic surgery.
