Record Breaking October Snowfall - Minneapolis, MN

An early October snowstorm impacted Minnesota which has brought record-breaking snowfall for the earliest 4 inches of snow the Twin Cities has ever seen.

Here's a quote from Bring Me the News from Meteorologist Sven Sundgaard.

"If we get 4” or more of snow tomorrow (which is looking likely) it will be the earliest 4” snowfall on record for the Twin Cities," he said Monday. "The earliest 3” snowfall on record was set back in 1916, we look to beat that." - Meteorologist Sven Sundgaard

And we definitely did with totals in and south of the Twin Cities sitting at around 8 to 9 inches of snow!

Records out of 140 years of record keeping
- Most snow fell on Oct 20th.
- 2nd biggest October snowstorm ever
- Earliest 4 inches of snowfall on record
