A Hint of Spring? Four Patch Quilt with Appliqué Pre-loved Hand Embroidery, A Flower Strewn Quilt

Hello lovely people, I hope you are all keeping well and getting through winter as best you can. I find January and February really tough months, so I thought why not think of spring and flowers and pretty things. I started planning this quilt over a year ago, I even filmed some of it. While doing a test piece I found that I really didn't like the first iteration of my design idea - test pieces are really important.

I chose a range of fabrics with the same depth of colour, quite light, and very different from my usual choices. What really brings this four-patch quilt to life is the embroidery, it provides another layer of interest and texture, it also helps that I found embroidery that is in the same colour palette but deeper so it really stands out on the quilt.
If you want to make something similar it might be easier to start with the embroidery you'd like to use, I chose pinks and purples but if you have tray cloths or other embroidery in other colours, go with that and choose your fabrics accordingly.
