Making big basswood cants for duck decoys on the Frick sawmill

We've got lots of basswood trees that up until now I thought were pretty worthless since it is such a soft wood, but, it turns out it is an ideal wood for carving into duck decoys. So, I dragged out a few logs and today we're making cants to be cut into blocks for duck decoy carving. And.. after installing new carbide bits two weeks ago, we managed to cut some more nails, ruining a lot of the bits... So the first order of business is to change out the carbide and put some in that I sharpened on the diamond wheel.
