041520 LAKE WINDCREST FATAL CRASH

At 11:35 pm Montgomery County Dispatchers received a call of a single-vehicle crash on Sunrise Drive in the Lake Windcrest Subdivision off FM 1488. Units arrived to find an Infiniti Q50 with heavy damage the driver was ejected. The driver identified as David Sanchez, 20, of Magnolia was pronounced deceased at the scene. His passenger, Vennessa Munoz, 19, also of Magnolia was transported by Montgomery County Hospital District in critical condition. DPS Trooper Burress said the female was wearing a seatbelt, the driver was not. According to Burress Sanchez was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Sunrise Drive when he lost control. The vehicle struck a mailbox then a driveway and began to cartwheel. The vehicle then struck another brick mailbox and driveway and began to roll. Parts of the vehicle were scattered up to 100 yards away. One tire off the vehicle was still missing as Troopers searched yards and the wooded area around it. Monarch Towing, which picked the vehicle up had to secure the engine as there was nothing holding it into the vehicle.
