Slimming World syn free chips recipe
Serves: 4
Syns per serving: FREE
900g medium sized Maris Piper potatoes
Low calorie cooking spray
Crushed sea salt and malt vinegar
Preheat the oven to 240°C/220°C Fan/Gas 9. Peel the potatoes and remove any blemishes or 'eyes'. Slice lengthwise into approx 1cm thick rectangular chips.
Bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil. Add the chips and cook for 4-5 minutes. Drain and leave aside for 10 minutes to dry.
Return the chips to the dry saucepan, cover with a lid and shake to ''''rough up'''' the edges of the chips - this roughness is important to the texture of the chips.
Spray a metal baking tray with low calorie cooking spray. Transfer the chips to the tray, spray lightly with low calorie cooking spray and bake in a hot oven for 30 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides.
Tip: For extra flavour sprinkle your chips with garlic salt or herbs and spices
Slimming World syn free roast potatoes recipe
Serves 8
Syns per serving : FREE
700g potatoes, peeled and roughly chopped
Sea salt
Garlic
Grated lemon zest
Low calorie cooking spray
Preheat your oven to 200°C/ 400°F/Gas 6.
Par boil your potatoes for five minutes then remove from the heat and drain.
Fluff up the surface of the potatoes by shaking them in the pan or colander, this will make your roasties crispy on the outside.
Put your potatoes into a non-stick roasting pan, mist with low calorie cooking spray, sprinkle lightly with sea salt, garlic and grated lemon zest and bake in a moderate pre-heated oven for about 1 hour 30 minutes.
Slimming World syn free tuna and sweetcorn fritters recipe
Serves 4
Syns per serving: FREE
1 x small can sweetcorn kernels, drained
1 x small can tuna in spring water, drained
3 medium potatoes, unpeeled and whole
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 tbsp each of finely chopped chives, coriander and parsley
1 egg, lightly beaten
Low calorie cooking spray
Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C Fan/Gas 4.
Boil the potatoes for 15 minutes drain and allow to cool and then grate them into a large mixing bowl. Add the sweetcorn, tuna, herbs and eggs and season well.
Combine the ingredients and divide into 12 portions and shape into a flat patty and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Spray with low calorie cooking spray and place in the oven for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden.
Slimming World syn free mashed potato recipe
Serves 4
Syns per serving: FREE
700g Desirée potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 tsp mustard powder mixed with 1 tbsp water
½ small pack of fresh parsley, finely chopped
200g fat-free natural fromage frais
Boil the potatoes for 15-20 minutes, drain and return to the pan.
Add the mustard, parsley and fromage frais, then mash until smooth and serve.
Slimming World potato salad recipe
Serves 4
Syns per serving : 1½
500g waxy new potatoes, diced
1½ tbsp. cider vinegar
6 level tbsp extra-light mayonnaise
50g fat-free natural fromage frais
200g very low fat or fat-free natural cottage cheese
1 level tsp Dijon mustard
1 small red onion, finely diced
4 plum tomatoes, roughly chopped
100g gherkins, roughly chopped
3 hard boiled eggs, roughly chopped
1 roasted red pepper, diced
2 tbsp chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
Boil the diced potatoes for 10 minutes, or until tender, then drain. Place in a mixing bowl, sprinkle with the vinegar and leave to stand for 10 minutes.
Whisk together the mayonnaise, fromage frais and mustard and season lightly. Add the potatoes and the remaining ingredients and toss well until combined.
