BGW210 Red light solid or flashing

AT&T Fiber Internet (also known as Uverse) has red light on the BGW210 modem. The red light may be flashing or solid. This is a problem getting signal from the ONT (optical Network Terminal). The ONT may not be getting fiber signal (a red FAIL light on the ONT would indicate this). Or, it's possible the ONT is not powered on.

Checking the power can be tricky as the power source maybe located some distance from where the ONT is installed.
